Genomtec conducted a detailed analysis of the introduced in each variant mutations, both by a bioinformatics analysis (in-silico) and also in a wet-laboratory, utilising mutated fragments of genes to be detected by the product to fully confirm Kit’s reliability in recognition of all known up to date variants. This is particularly important to ensure public health and national vaccination programmes, and to alleviate additional pressure on the world healthcare systems due to variants’ higher transmissibility, or yet to be confirmed immune evasion and virulence. The results of the conducted investigation established that the RT-LAMP Duo Kit, a two SARS-CoV-2 gene target and an internal human control assay, remains able to detect all three discussed SARS-CoV-2 strains (on top of the original lineage) with the same high level of precision.
